This is a project that Lotte Betts-Dean and I had been dreaming to realise since we first heard David Lang’s Death Speaks a couple of years ago. Thanks to the help of the City Music Foundation, it finally happened at the St Bart’s Pathology Museum alongside our brilliant friends pianist Joseph Havlat and violinist Iona Allan.
The programme featured a huge assortment of music old and new including Renaissance lute music, American folk music, Radiohead arrangements, Brett Dean, Kurtag, Schubert. I got to playing classical, acoustic, and electric guitar.
Lotte describes the project in beautiful details here.
Thank you all for coming along. We hope to repeat it again soon!
